A Fortune 500 company purchased Charon-VAX/XM, which is the "small" version of the VAX server emulation product. While they were unable to get clearance to release their company name, they thought the following data would be of interest. They show that Charon-VAX is approximately five times faster than the VAX system it replaced!

Here's what they said:
Some of you already know the new "VAX" is online and functioning as NUMAC1, nothing has changed for those that use this VAX.

I executed a Quad Cities build (compile, assemble, link, and hex file generation) for Quad Cities ATIP on both the old NUMAC1 and the new NUMAC1. I did a single build, two and three user simultaneous builds. There is an approximate 5:1 improvement overall. FTP file transfer times were not measured (albeit improved).
